Which exercises should an old obese person avoid?

Asked 3 years ago

Hi, I'm 56 years old and weigh 120lbs. I suffer from hypertension and diabetes, and I'm worried that I might damage my knees if I try to go running or hurt my back with exercise. Do you have any suggestions for what I can do and should avoid?

Hello,

You want to avoid high-impact exercises like running, jogging, and jumping as they place more stress on your joints and cause injury. Instead, aim for low-impact activities like regular walking, swimming, and water aerobics. These are easier, more comfortable, and safer on your joints.
