Are there any weight loss exercises I can do that won’t make my osteoarthritis worse?
Asked 3 years ago
I’m now in my mid-60s and suffer quite a bit from osteoarthritis in my knees, feet and back. I know that being obese is contributing a lot to this condition. It’s a catch 22 situation though, because when I try to exercise, like walk or play tennis, my joints become very sore. Are there any exercises I can do that won’t hurt my joints but will still help me to lose weight? I appreciate the help.

You want to try low-impact exercises like swimming and walking as they do not involve repetitive joint stress. Additionally, biking and using an elliptical trainer will assist with your weight loss. The best weight loss approach requires combining a great diet plan with appropriate exercise and behavioural modification.
