How can I prevent type 2 diabetes if I have hypertension?
Asked 3 years ago
I have been struggling with hypertension ever since I had my first baby. I am quite scared because I know that hypertension is a risk factor for type 2 diabetes. Is there any way I can prevent type 2 diabetes if I have hypertension?

By eating a well-balanced diet, sleeping adequately and exercising during the week, you can reduce your risk of developing diabetes. Being aware of the food groups you are consuming on a daily basis, with a specific focus on how much sugar you are consuming. A healthy lifestyle, free of alcohol and smoking can also limit the risk of developing type 2 diabetes. Consulting with a dietician or medical professional regarding these conditions can help in developing your general understanding of the conditions. The doctor may also prescribe medication to help you control your conditions effectively and safely as you age. It is advised to t the medications as prescribed by the doctor and report any adverse events
