Which racial groups have the highest risk of developing type I diabetes?

I want to start my own blog about my journey with type 1 diabetes. It's going to be personal and about how I manage my daily life with it, but I also want a part of it to be informative for people with questions. The first question I want to answer is- Which racial groups have the highest risk of developing type 1 diabetes? Does anybody have an answer for me? Thanks!

Research suggests that the Scandinavian race has the highest number of individual type 1 DM cases globally. Countries like Finland, Sweden, and Estonia lead the list. Why this is so is anybody's guess. There may be a need to conduct further research to identify the cause.
