Is it normal to be a young diabetic with high blood pressure?
Asked 3 years ago
I am 18 years old and I have Type 2 diabetes. After my last doctor's appointment, he noted that my blood pressure has been increasing quite quickly since my diagnosis. Is it normal to be this young and have such high blood pressure?

Having high blood pressure at 18 has become something of the norm. A CDC study found that one in 25 people aged 12 to 19 have hypertension. However, it also means an increased risk of heart disease and stroke later. Ensure you work with your doctor to control it as soon as possible.
