How many cups of coffee per day increase the risk of metabolic syndrome?

I drink up to 4 cups of coffee per day. Since I have type 1 diabetes, could this possibly increase the risk of metabolic syndrome?

Research suggests that moderate coffee consumption reduces the risk of metabolic syndrome in both men and women due to the presence of polyphenols. Taking four cups of coffee in a day qualifies as moderate coffee intake. Thus, you don't need to be overly worried about coffee causing Mets.
