Does decaf coffee or drinks cause insulin resistance?
Asked 3 years ago
I have type 1 diabetes and ever since my diagnosis I have switched to decaf coffee and other decaffeinated drinks. Will drinking these cause insulin resistance?

Some studies suggest that caffeine increases insulin resistance. Consequently, taking decaffeinated drinks or decaf coffee may help reduce the risk of developing insulin resistance alongside your type 1 diabetes. It's best to consult your health care provider for advice about your nutritional content.
