How do I kick start my metabolism?

Hi, what can I do to jumpstart my metabolism to lose weight? Should I drink water first thing in the morning or eat a particular food?

Moderate exercise three to four times a week, coupled with a balanced diet and adequate rest will boost your body's metabolism. Exercise is the most well documented method to increase your metabolism by activating your system to process food or stored fat into energy needed to sustain the muscles and body while doing exercise. After exercise, the metabolism remains elevated which further aids the body in using stored energy in the form of fat as a way for the body to repair itself after exercise.
Eating foods such as those that have a spicy element to them does aid in boosting your metabolism. Teas such as green teas can also increase metabolism in the body. Increasing daily activity through exercise, and standing or walking more will further increase energy requirements of the body, boosting metabolism needs of the body. With this, your body will be able to take energy from fat stores in the body and thus will reduce your overall weight.
