Firstly, ensuring your blood pressure, it well controlled, is important before starting exercise. During exercise, the heart rate increases and so does the blood pressure along with it, to meet the oxygen demands of the muscles and organs. Having high resting blood pressures could pose a serious threat to one’s health as exercise further increases the blood pressure from there.
Do not exercise if you have headaches or a feeling of pressure in the head, this may indicate the blood pressure is elevated. To ensure safe exercise, start with low intensity exercise that does not pose a lot of stress on the cardiovascular system. Walking on flat ground is a good place to start, and will put less demand on the heart. One can gradually increase exercise intensity from there as cardiovascular fitness increases.
Exercise involving heavy strain and stress on the cardiovascular system should be avoided. Heavy squats or deadlifts can place excessive strain on the body. Avoid exercises that are of high intensity and increase the heart rate drastically. It could be dangerous to have a high heart rate for a long period of time while playing sports such as football or soccer.
Should any adverse symptoms arise while exercising , consult with a medical professional immediately.
