Will insulin raise blood pressure if you have atherosclerosis?

Asked 3 years ago

My grandmother has hypertension as a result of her type 2 diabetes mellitus. I’m afraid that she might develop atherosclerosis and eventually have a heart attack, and I worry a lot about her. Can insulin increase blood pressure if you develop atherosclerosis?

Insulin may have some impact on blood pressure, however an important way to reduce her risk of a heart attack is to manage her blood pressure, sugar and atherosclerosis optimally by taking the correct treatment. If insulin has been advised, it may be the best way to control her sugar and reduce her risk. Dario offers products to safely and regularly monitor your blood pressure and blood glucose levels throughout the day, in the comfort of your own home.
