I have hypertension as a result of my type II diabetes. What is the link between glucose overload and hypertension in type II diabetes?

Glucose overload causes hypertension in type II diabetes by causing atherosclerosis. Atherosclerosis causes blood vessels to lose their elasticity and narrow progressively. Elevated blood pressure is the result. However, the process is not automatic, and you can avoid it by controlling your blood glucose level.
