How does type 2 diabetes cause hypertension?
Asked 3 years ago
I am in my early 40s and was recently diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. I have made several lifestyle changes, for example following a diet plan and exercise regime. But the one thing looming heavily on my mind is hypertension... Is it possible that I will one day have hypertension? How does type 2 diabetes cause hypertension?

Type 2 diabetes increases the risk of developing hypertension because both conditions share similar risk factors. However, while you can develop hypertension, your diligence in managing your diabetes lessens the risk. By keeping up with the lifestyle changes, dietary regimen, and exercises, you'll cut down the risk significantly.
