Can you combine Metformin with hypertension medication?

Asked 3 years ago

My husband has type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) and his blood pressure is constantly high. He is currently on medication to control his hypertension. I’m worried he may be at risk of cardiovascular issues because of his condition. I heard that metformin is good for T2DM patients, but I’m not sure if they can take it while on hypertension drugs.

Metformin is safe to use alongside most of the commonly used medications for hypertension. Metformin is used in the treatment of T2DM and it is good to control his sugar levels as well as his blood pressure by being on the correct treatment for both conditions.
