Which type of insulin should I take if I have insulin resistance?

Asked 3 years ago

I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes a while back and also found out that I experienced insulin resistance. I have tried being physically active, eating healthy, and taking oral medication. I am struggling to manage my glucose levels. I think I might have to transition to injecting insulin. Will I be using rapid-acting insulin since I’m new to it?

You may need to switch to insulin injection to control insulin resistance. However, you can use any of the rapid, intermediate, or long-acting insulin shots. Your choice of insulin will depend on how quickly you need to see a drop in blood sugar levels and how long you want the sugar controlled.
