My mom is afraid that she might be at risk for Latent Autoimmune Diabetes. What are the risk factors for this kind of diabetes?

Several studies suggest that the factors that promote insulin resistance also increase the risk of LADA. They include being overweight, physically inactive, smoking, low birth weight, diet, and alcohol consumption. A family history of type 1 diabetes also increases your risk of developing LADA.
