I was diagnosed with diabetes during my pregnancy. I believe this is known as gestational diabetes. What exactly are the long-term effects of gestational diabetes on a baby?

Babies born by mothers with gestational diabetes have a higher risk of developing obesity and type 2 diabetes later in life. There is also research tying gestational diabetes to cases of autism in children. However, there are also suggestions that treatment can reduce the risks of metabolic complications later in life,
