Is it safe to take premixed insulin for type 2 diabetics?
Asked 3 years ago
I read that type 2 diabetes often progresses over time, and it happens that other treatments won’t be as effective. My daughter was diagnosed with diabetes, and I wasn't sure if she should be on medication. She is still very young and I’m worried that she will have to start using injection pens. I’m not sure if injecting mixed insulin is safe for her.

Premixed insulin is considered clinically efficient for managing type 2 diabetes patients. They help the patient achieve optimal fasting and postprandial glycemic control. However, there are guidelines for initiating and intensifying treatment using premixed insulin. You may need to discuss this with your healthcare provider before deciding.
