If I have type 2 diabetes, will I have to inject insulin eventually?
Asked 3 years ago
I have hypertension and my doctor says I have also developed insulin resistance, which has put me at risk of developing diabetes. I have made a few lifestyle changes, but I’m still concerned I might end up with type 2 diabetes and have to manage it with insulin.

You're on track with the lifestyle changes. Changes such as healthy eating, regular exercise, and loss of excess weight can decrease insulin resistance and also increase insulin sensitivity. Concurrently, you may also use blood pressure medication for hypertension. If it becomes type 2 diabetes, your treatment may include using insulin.
