Can anything increase risk factors for type I diabetes?
Asked 3 years ago
My mom has type 1 diabetes and I don't want to get it too. Is it possible that risk factors for type 1 diabetes can be triggered or increased?

The risk factors for type 1 diabetes are not as clear-cut as that of pre-diabetes or type II diabetes. They are also not modifiable(triggered or increased.) They include family history, genetics, geographical location, and age. The best you can do is to monitor your blood profile regularly as you grow older.
